hello everybody. If there is no sticker in the back the headstock, how can I know the country of manufacture? Some basses have the "made in China", some have the "made in Indonesia" but some others have nothing. Only the serial number.

Does anyone have the decoder ring for Sire serial numbers? That is, for many instruments, you can tell even what day they were made, etc, by the serial number. What's the sire system?

If I'm buying online, I like that Sweetwater has the weight listed for each serial number of bass. If it's a solid color bass, I usually pick the lightest one where the neck looks free of knots/weirdness in the wood grain.
